MP Legal is pleased to inform you about the official establishment of MP Legal’s African desk based in Freetown and Accra, and would like to take this opportunity to introduce the head of our African desk, Mr. Emmanuel Sahr Tondoneh.

Emmanuel Sahr Tondoneh joined MPartners Legal in 2021 and is currently Head of our African desk. He acquired his bachelor’s degree at De Montfort University in Leicester, England in 2006 and his Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Sierra Leone Law School in 2011. In 2016 Mr. Tondoneh received his LLM with distinction in Corporate and Commercial Law from the University of Dundee Scotland (UK).

He is a member of the Sierra Leone Bar Association.

He specializes in corporate/M&A, insolvency & restructuring, capital market law, and has vast experience in compiling Compliance and Regulatory registers.

Mr. Tondoneh can draw on many years of experience in advising international companies in Sierra Leone on various legal matters, especially on starting and conducting business in jurisdictions other than West Africa, such as the European Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

He worked as the Legal Counsel for Sierra Rutile Limited, a subsidiary of Iluka Resources Limited, an Australian listed mining company, London Mining Company Limited, and Timis Mining Corporation (SL) Limited. He also served as Prosecutor in the office of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice Sierra Leone.

Among others, Mr. Tondoneh has advised some of the most prominent international companies in establishing and restructuring their business operations in Serbia, including Bank of China, Rio Tinto, Sinopharm, MIDES-MEDTEH, Huawei, Zijin Mining, Sierra Rutile Limited, Titan, Barrick Gold Corporation, BHP and many other clients.

His knowledge of the African market and law is of great importance both for the MPartners Legal and for clients who seek to expand their business to the African continent.
